INFORMATION OF THE VII INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF OIRAD STUDIES DEDICATED TO THE 420 YEARS
ANNIVERSARY OF MONGOLIAN FAMOUS SCHOLAR, TRANSLATOR, IKH KHUTAGT RAVJAMBA ZAYA BANDIDA NAMKHAIJAMTS
Organizer: CRH of Khovd province, GSO, KHU, SSHS Location: Mongolia, Khovd province, Khovd city Date: 16-17, September, 2019 Background: Oirat’s religious and cultural scholar Zaya Bandida Namkhaijamts was born in 1599. He had studied Buddhism in Tibet for 20 years since 1617. He received the Title Zuu Ravjamba and returned to Mongolia in 1639. He was respected as the Great Teacher of Khalkha 7 Hoshuuns and Oirats, when he started building temples, established Buddhist rules, and started educating people. Zaya Bandida Namkhaijamts created a new Mongolian alphabet in 1648 and named it “Tod letter” to unite all Mongols and their culture. It is important to form patriotic views to mongolian children and youth, educate them about life and activities of Great historical figure Zaya Bandida Namkhaijamts who had devoted all his life to the independence of Mongolia and distribution of religion, culture, and education.
Purpose: To study the historical activities and autobiography of Zaya Bandida Namkhaijamts, unite the research results of scientists and determine the future research tendency.
